FOR JANUARY’S MEETING EVERYONE IS INVITED TO MEET AT 5:30 PM AT PANERA BREAD AND THEN AT 6:30 PM AT THE PARISH HOUSE.

To make the program a success, we need your help! There are two ways you can participate. First, your family, perhaps in tandem with another family, may sign up to sponsor an individual child’s backpack (or more than one, if you are so moved). You’ll receive a list of items to fill the backpack each week, and bring those items with you to church on Sunday. We will pack the backpack when we receive it back from the school during the week, and send it home with the child on Friday. The other way you can participate is simply by bringing individual items from the checklist to church, and we will use your contributions to ensure we meet our commitment to the children if some backpacks come up short.

Sign-up sheets for this ministry are located in Battin Hall during Advent. If you have any questions, please feel free to give Mike Dickey a call at 867.2550 or email atmdickey@barronredding.com. This project provides a great hands-on ministry for those looking for ways to meet Christ’s mandate that we feed the hungry, and a way for us to share the Good News outside the walls of the church.

Welcome back!

Wednesday nights are back in full swing, 6pm in the upstairs room. If you are a youth family, and haven’t signed up to provide dinner one week, please ask me for the sign-up sheet. We will NOT meet on Wednesday, Sept. 14th, following the Rock The Universe weekend, but I will see you upstairs every other Wednesday this month!

Sunday School – is also delayed because we will be in Orlando on Sunday, Sept. 11th. For middle and high school kids, Sunday School will begin on Sunday, Sept. 18th. We will meet in the upstairs room at 9:15am each Sunday, and will cover the old testament and gospel lessons assigned for that week.

Our youth group is going to take on a special carpentry project this Fall, and we will be making plans for it at our Wed. night meetings. Don’t miss out!

This is two nights of Christian rock bands performing live at Universal Studios Orlando, Friday and Saturday, September 9^th and 10^th.  Between listening to the bands, you can enjoy all of the other rides and attractions at the Universal Studios theme park.  Check out their website for more information:  http://www.universalorlando.com/Events/Rock_the_Universe/2011.aspx

Holy Nativity EYC middle- and high-schoolers will be attending as a group.  We will provide transportation, a house (or two) to sleep in, and breakfast each morning.  Parents are more than welcome to come along as chaperones.

The cost per person is estimated to be $175, which includes transportation, lodging, and tickets to the park.

I need to reserve a place to sleep and purchase group tickets, so I am looking for a head count now.  If you would like to attend, please fill out the registration form on the back, and turn it in with a $50 deposit by the end of July.
