Christian Education
Christian Education Offerings for Adults
Sunday Morning Sunday School at 9:15 am.
Education for Ministry: EfM is a 4 year study on the Bible from a historical perspective. This study was created by The University of the South. Currently there are 3 classes being offered on different times of the week.
Special Programs: We have special adult programs at different times of the year. We have a Lenten program with a soup dinner on Wednesdays in Lent. Also, monthly programs are planned during the year.
Women’s Bible Study: This group meets every Thursday morning at 9:30 at the church for a Bible Study. Each session is around 10 weeks and might include a video study from a speaker like Beth Moore or a discussion group study on a part of the Bible.
The Eucharist
Facilitated by Jane Burkett
The Lord’s Supper, Communion, the Eucharist – there are many names for this sacrament, but even more theories as to what’s actually going on and what its significance is. What Jesus meant when he said “This is my body” has been a point of speculation and contention among Christians for nearly 2,000 years. In this class we’ll explore what the Bible has to say, early Christian belief and practice, the major theories in play during the Reformation, and what our Book of Common Prayer says (and doesn’t say!) about this sacrament which is so central to our worship.
Begins Sunday, June 12 at 9:15 a.m. in the Poole Library
